IC Insights predicts that by 2017, the acceleration and horizontal angular velocity sensors will increase by 9% and sales will reach $3 billion. Sales of magnetic field sensors and electronic compass chips rose 8 percent to $2 billion. Sales of pressure sensors rose 8% to $2.7 billion. Transmission will also grow by 8%, with sales of $4.9 billion.

Sensor and actuator in 2016 82% of income comes from the MEMS semiconductor - that is, including inkjet printer nozzle, microfluidic chip and micro mirror surface, rf signal wave filter, a series of microelectromechanical devices. These devices can perform a series of physical operations within the device through a microcomputer system. In 2016, the shipments of microcomputer electronics were 98 trillion units, accounting for 48% of the total shipments of sensors and actuators.

Sales of microcomputer electric products reached $9.7 billion in 2016, up 15.4 percent from the previous year, a record high. The increase in 2015 was 5.1 per cent and 5.8 per cent in 2014. In recent years, the inventory correction of microcomputer electrical equipment and the serious average selling price have depressed the growth of income. But this batch of microelectromechanical products and sensors and actuators are profitable because of the growing demand for wearable systems and the Internet of things, and the spread of smart embedded control technologies. The sensor and transmission will grow by 7.9% to $10.5 billion in 2017, according to IC Insights. Between 2016 and 2021, annual growth will be 8.0% and sales will rise to $14.3 billion.

IC Insights expects the annual growth of sensors to reach 7.5 percent over the next five years, with sales reaching $10.1 billion by 2021. At the same time, the annual growth of the actuator will be up to 8.4%, with sales approaching $6.8 billion. The IC Insights report also anticipates the market size and growth rate of the sensors and actuator industries over the next five years.
